GERMAN 1-2
Students communicate content related to self and very familiar daily topics in the target language using primarily authentic materials from the target culture, as stated in the State of California Standards for World Languages, Novice Level. Course incorporates the cultural products, practices, perspectives and social conventions of the target culture in all three modes of communication- interpretive, interpersonal and presentational. Instruction is primarily in the target language as directed in the State of California Foreign Language Framework.
GERMAN 3-4
Students communicate content related to self and the immediate environment in the target language using primarily authentic materials from the target culture, as stated in the State of California Standards for World Languages, Intermediate Low-Mid Level. Course incorporates the cultural products, practices, perspectives and social conventions of the target culture in all three modes of communication- interpretive, interpersonal and presentational. Instruction is almost exclusively in the target language as directed in the State of California Foreign Language Framework. |
GERMAN 5-6
Students communicate content relating to most formal and informal topics of general public interest, using various timeframes, in the target language. Resources are primarily authentic materials from the target culture as stated in the State of California Standards for World Languages, Intermediate Mid-Advanced Low levels. Course incorporates the cultural products, practices, perspectives and social conventions of the target culture in all three modes of communication- interpretive, interpersonal and presentational. Instruction is almost exclusively in the target language as directed in the State of California Foreign Language Framework. |
GERMAN 7-8
Students communicate in the target language about topics from broad general interests to unfamiliar, abstract, and hypothetical areas of specialized professional and academic expertise. Resources are authentic materials from the target culture as stated in the State of California Standards for World Languages, Intermediate Mid-Advanced Low levels. Course incorporates the cultural products, practices, perspectives and social conventions of the target culture in all three modes of communication- interpretive, interpersonal and presentational. Instruction is exclusively in the target language as directed in the State of California Foreign Language Framework. |
